Multicultural Music Camp

August 20-24, 2018

A one-week summer camp for violin and piano students entering 3rd-8th grade.

Celebrating diverse genres, cultures, and languages.

Hosted at Portland State University and led by some of Portland’s most engaging musicians, this week-long camp will give beginning and intermediate level piano and violin students an opportunity to learn and make music together in an environment that honors diversity, creativity, and collaboration.

Students Will:

  • receive quality instruction in their instrument of choice (piano or violin)
  • collaborate musically with peers (pianists and violinists performing together!)
  • learn African drumming
  • sing in a choir, exploring songs from around the world
  • participate in Dalcroze (movement/ear training)
  • enjoy performances by local musicians
  • perform in a final concert at PSU’s Lincoln Recital Hall

For Whom:

Beginning and intermediate level piano and violin students (with 1-6 years of private lessons), entering 3rd-8th grade in fall 2018.
When: Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24, 2018, 9am-5pm
Where: Portland State University, Lincoln Hall, 1620 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR

Cost: $350 (includes)

  • Registration Fee: $50

Medical Release Form

In order to attend the Multicultural Music Camp, each family must have a signed Medical Release Form on file with the MMCamp administration. This form will enable necessary treatment to be given to a student in the event of an emergency. Please download, complete, and send our Medical Release Form to:

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available for students who are eligible for free or reduced price lunch at school. If you feel you qualify, please download our Financial Assistance Application and send it along with the required documentation to:

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If a parent cancels their child's camp registration on or before June 15, 2018, 50% of their payment will be refunded. There will be no refunds for cancellations after June 15, 2018.
